On 27th September, Taunton Town Council brought the heart of Somerset to life with Taunton Together—a town-wide celebration that beautifully showcased the richness of diversity, creativity and community spirit. With the River Tone as its central thread, the event wove together a tapestry of experiences across five distinct festival zones, each offering something unique and inspiring.

Set against the tranquil backdrop of the River Tone, Goodland Gardens embraced themes of Wellbeing, People and the Environment. Visitors were invited to slow down, reflect and engage with nature-focused activities that nurtured both body and mind. It was a peaceful oasis that reminded us of the power of connection—with ourselves, each other and the planet.
Somerset Square buzzed with energy as local performers took to the stage in a lively talent show that celebrated artistic expression in all its forms. From music and dance to spoken word and theatre the square became a vibrant hub of performance, drawing crowds and applause throughout the day.

Castle Green transformed into a bustling marketplace with the Taunton Independent Market, offering a delightful mix of artisan goods, local produce, and handmade treasures. Just steps away, The Museum of Somerset’s historic courtyard hosted hands-on screen printing workshops, where attendees could explore this dynamic art form in a truly inspiring setting.

Community stalls lined Hammet Street and the grounds of Taunton Minster, showcasing the incredible work of local organisations, charities, and initiatives. It was a chance to connect, learn, and celebrate the people who make Taunton thrive.

Movement and fashion took centre stage in the town’s retail heart in the High Street and Orchard Shopping Centre, with Apple FM hosting dazzling fashion shows featuring Taunton students. The shows were a testament to the creativity and flair of the next generation, blending style with storytelling in a way that captivated audiences.
Adding a touch of whimsy and wonder, Go Create unveiled a series of stunning animal sculptures across all five festival locations. These imaginative installations sparked joy and curiosity, inviting festival-goers of all ages to explore and discover.

Taunton Together was a celebration of what makes the town special: its people, its creativity and its commitment to inclusivity. From serene gardens to bustling markets, from fashion runways to community conversations, the day was a vibrant reminder that when we come together, magic happens.
