Loki is our Community Matters mascot. He is a graduate of St Giles Animal Welfare Centre. You will see that he is an incredible handsome and dapper looking chap. Poor Loki spent his entire life in racing kennels before being rescued by St Giles. He struck lucky when spotted by Charlotte, who instantly fell in love with him and offered him his forever home . An offer he accepted willingly.
The last time we caught up with Loki was at the St Giles dog Show and Fete in August when he made a guest appearance.
Since then he has had a restful Summer, alternating between walks and visits to the pub, where he catches up with his mates. Recently he had a mini break with friends whilst his humans popped abroad to tie the matrimonial knot. He was quite relieved that he escaped walking his human down the aisle as he isn’t one for the limelight despite his celebrity status.
Loki recently celebrated his 5th birthday with a doggie donut and other doggie delicacies. His birthday was just another day on the racing calendar prior to being rescued, so charlotte wanted to push the boat out for him to express just how special and loved he is.
Loki has had a wonderful Summer apart from injuring his paw; which required a few visits to the vet and stitches. He doesn’t want to make too much of this and assures us he has recovered well from the mishap.
As you will see from the photos Loki is partial to being muffled in his blankets. He is looking forward to the next few months when he can snuggle up next to his human, cocooned in a throw and dream about doggie donuts.
