Gideon Amos MP is calling on people to join a delegation to Parliament as part of his efforts to get the Wellington and Cullompton Stations project back on track.
He is looking to fill a coach which will travel to the capital on Wednesday, April 23rd, to meet the Rail Minister, Lord Hendy.
The stations project remains under review by the government after the ending of the ‘Restoring Your Railway’ programme last summer.
Mr Amos said: “This project is a crucial opportunity to improve connectivity, leisure, and business opportunities across the South West.
“I’m determined to see it through and I’m working closely with Richard Foord, MP for Honiton & Sidmouth, to make it happen.
“We will be taking a delegation to London to demonstrate the widespread support for the project.
“We will be departing early from Wellington by coach, spending a few hours around Parliament, before holding a demonstration outside and formally handing a letter to the Minister. We will then return home the same day.”
Mr Amos has already met the Secretary of State of Transport, Heidi Alexander, and Lord Hendy to press home the case for the two stations.
“We will continue to press hard for the project to go ahead and will not rest until these vital stations are reopened,” he added.
