Musgrove Park Hospital charity, Love Musgrove have thanked Apple FM for their charity fundraiser with a cheque presentation. Back in April, Chris Wareing and Dave Ridgeway completed the Cycle Against Cancer challenge jointly raising money for Love Musgrove, for the Beacon Centre, and Apple FM. They were using a static bike (courtesy of Turbo Trainer Hire) to cycle on the concourse at Musgrove Park Hospital.
Chris started at 9am and completed his part of the challenge shortly after 1pm. The challenge was also broadcast live on Apple FM in a marathon 7-hour show. The challenge didn’t end after Chris completed the 97.3KM as Dave Ridgeway, another presenter on Apple FM, took over on the bike and completed another 59.3KM. Therefore, in total Chris and Dave completed 156.6KM which is equal to 97.3 Miles, a target they aimed for as the station broadcast on 97.3FM in the Taunton area.
Greg Perkins Managing Director of Apple FM said, ‘We exceeded our donation target, by the end of the challenge had raised just over £1,200 from on and offline contributions, with the total rising to £1,445’. The total was split equally between Love Musgrove for the Beacon Centre and Apple FM. Chris Wareing and Dave Ridgeway, presenters on Apple FM said, ‘We would like to thank everyone who donated or who came along to show support for on the day, to charity staff at Love Musgrove and to everyone that has donated’.
