Today (17th April), Apple FM presenters, Chris Wareing and Dave Ridgeway completed the Cycle Against Cancer challenge raising money for Love Musgrove for the Beacon Centre, at Musgrove Park Hospital, and Apple FM. They used a static bike (courtesy of Turbo trainer Hire) and the challenge was to complete 97.3 kilometres to match the Apple FM 97.3 frequency. The challenge took place in the concourse at Musgrove Park Hospital.
Chris completed this by shortly after 1pm and then Dave Ridgeway took over on the bike to continue the challenge. Dave cycled a further 59.3 kilometres making the total distance cycled to 156.6km bringing the total distance to 97.3 miles.
The whole challenge was broadcast on-air in a marathon show hosted by Tony Dicks in the studio. Greg Perkins and Steve Westwood hosted the broadcast from the concourse to support Chris & Dave who exceeded the one thousand pound fundraising target.
