British rock legends Status Quo have been announced as the fourth and final act at this year’s Live in Somerset bank holiday concert series.
The five-piece band have been entertaining the masses for over 60 years since their formation in 1962.
Francis Rossi (lead guitar and vocals), Andy Bown (keyboard), John Edwards (bass guitar), Leon Cave (drums) and Richie Malone (rhythm guitar), will be taking to the stage in Vivary Park in Taunton on bank holiday Friday 23 August 2024.
The band have amassed over 60 UK chart hits, more than any other rock band.
They’re best known for songs such as ‘Whatever You Want’, ‘In The Army Now’, ‘Down Down’ and ‘Rockin’ All Over The World’, the single most famous for opening Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985.
Status Quo will be joined by special guests at Live in Somerset 2024.
Claire Kidger, director of LCC Live said:
“We’re delighted to be able to welcome back Status Quo after their sold out show at Live in Somerset back in 2016!
They’re great performers with such an iconic catalogue of great hit songs, everyone will be sure to dance and sing along. We can’t wait!”
Tickets for Status Quo go on sale at 09:00 next Friday (23 February 2024) from Ticketline and in person at Taunton’s Visitor Centre on Fore Street in Taunton.
