Our volunteer Ellen Chilcott went along to find out more, below is her report:
When I heard about this great event by a friend, I wanted to help and was pleased to hear they were looking for volunteers! I agreed to help look after the car park and to secure the field.
It was a popular event with over 2,000 Hollyoak fans trying to get autographs and photos. It was great to see so much support!
The event was all in aid of raising money for FLAG (Flooding on the Levels Action Group). They couldn’t have wanted to better day for the football match! The weather was great, if not a little too hot for football. After the match the players were pretty exhausted.
The Hollyoaks cast played against North West Legends and the final score was North West Legends 4 Hollyoaks 2.
It was a great fundraising event and I went away with some brilliant souvenirs, autographs from the celebrities for the help. I did get into trouble by one of the other celebrities after a chat I had about confessing to NOT watching Hollyoaks!
I would like to say thanks for all the staff and all the volunteers at the Street Football Club for allowing me to be part of this successful event and for helping raising much needed funds for FLAG.
